Akins, William F. (Bill), Sgt E5, U.S. Army, 6th Batallion, 29th Artillery, 4th Infantry Division, VietNam. Spent 15 months in VietNam as NCO in charge of an artillery intelligence section.
Anthony, James, Petty Officer 3rd Class, U.S. Navy. Squadron VP 24, Norfolk, VA, Anti Sub detection. Also served in NAS RooseRoads - Puerto Rico. Last duty station was aboard the USS Essex CVA 8. An Air Dale not a Black Shoe.
Barr, Brooks, L/cpl E3, USMC. 1st Force Reconnaissance Co., 1st Marine Div., VietNam 1964-67. Earned MC Jump Wings, Scuba Badge and Artic Warfare School Ribbon. Completed Jungle Warfare School at Panama, Canal Zone, Guerrilla Warfare School at Taiwan. Participated in actions in Dominican Republic (1964), riot actions in Panama (1964). Bronze Star and a Presidential Unit Citation, signed by President Clinton in 2000, recognizing members who served as raiders in Cambodia and Laos but the government denied their existence for over 25 years. During enlistment, visited 109 countries.
Barron, William "Buzz", E3, USAF. Crew Chief/Jet Mechanic on the Republic F105 "Thunderchief". Was with the first Combat Air Crew in VietNam in August, 1964. Stationed in various places including, Kadena AFB, Okinawa; DaNang, VietNam; Korat, Thailand; McConnell AFB, Wichita, KS; and Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV. Promoted to E2 and E3 several times, and just like high svhool days, my big mouth continued to get me in trouble.

Deatherage, Gary M., 3rd Class Petty Officer, U.S. Navy 1965-1969, VietNam Era. Served aboard the USS Thor (ARC-4). Laid underwater cable for the surveillance and detection of submarine and surface craft. We provided cable operations for both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets for National Defense.

Green, Danny, Sgt. E-4, USAF, 1965-70. Avionics Maintenance. Stationed at TAC, Bitburg, Germany, TAC, Tripoli Lybia & SAC Ft. Worth, TX. Worked on B-52s, Kc-135s & F-4Es.
Jordan, James, U.S. Navy. Served in the Navy during the VietNam era. Made a couple of cruises there and left in the post-VietNam downsizing. Also did some volunteer work in '96-97 as the Public Affairs Officer of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corp in Ft. Worth.

Vetkoetter, Mike, Sgt, USMC, 2nd Battalion 3rd Marine Division. Weapons Squad Leader, Machine Guns. 1965-66 VietNam, AnLoc, Quangtri Province, DaNang.
Waggoner, Billy J., Sgt. E4. Two years U.S. Navy assigned to CVA-16 U.S.S. Lexington, Aircraft Carrier, and the U.S.S. Woodson, a destroyer. Joined the USAF and was stationed at Naha AFB in Okinawa, then assigned to Ton Sun Nutt AFB just outside of Saigon as a Military Policeman, 51st Air Police Wing. Upon returning from VietNam was assigned to Grand Forks AFB in Grand Forks, ND, assigned to missle security until discharged in 1967.
Whitten, Gary, Staff Sgt., U.S. Air Force, 26th Security Police Squadron, 26th Tac Recon Wing, 86th Air Division, 4th Allied Tactical Air Force, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Deployed to Wheelus Air Base in Libya for 48 days during the Arab-Israeli 6-day War in 1967. Stationed at Travis AFB in California 1969-70.
Vinson, Karl, 2nd Class Petty Officer, U.S. Navy. Enlisted June, 1963. Served at Treasure Island in San Francisco until 1964 then served on the USS Terrell County for approx. two years out of Yokosuka, Japan delivering cargo and troops to VietNam. Served on the USS Bayfield for approx. two years delivering troops to VietNam.

David Smith (husband of Lynell Garrett Smith) served a tour in VietNam in 1968-69 with the U.S. Navy. His rank was USN(R) GMG-3 and he served as a river boat driver. Lynell and David were engaged the entire time he was in VietNam, and they were married four days after he returned home in August, 1969. They lived in Long Beach, CA until he finished his "career". While living in California, they appeared on the TV show "The Newlywed Game". Although they did not win, they were awarded some fantastic consolation prizes of a West Bend cooker and a portable 8-track player.
Virgil Finney (husband of Phyllis Darline Watson Shaddix) served with the U.S. Army in 1961-62 in Neu Ulm, Germany, and from 1962-63 in Goepping, Germany. Rank E-4.
